Resources for Your Resolutions

So, here we are a little more than a week into the new year. How are you doing on those resolutions?

Yeah, me too.

Actually, I don’t do resolutions. “Resolution” seems so absolute, so do-or-die. I prefer the term “goals.” That’s much more doable…something I’m working toward, rather than a “pass or fail.” If I don’t quite reach the goal, but I’m closer to it at the end of the year then I was successful.

So, here are some of my GOALS for 2013:

  1. Consistent, daily time in God’s Word
  2. Work out 2-3 times a week
  3. Run 2 5Ks this year (I’ve done them before, but not since my latest surgery; time to get back on it!)
  4. Create weekly meal plans (which also helps with two other goals: reduce our monthly food budget and focus on healthy meals and snacks for my family)
  5. Develop organizational systems (or restructure current systems) for those unmanageable areas: toys, craft supplies, paperwork
  6. Expand my writing (I have more specific goals in this area, but those are for another time.)

How about you? What goals (resolutions?) do you have for this year?

I’ve come across some FANTASTIC (inexpensive–some are even free) resources that might just give you the motivation and the tools you need to get started.

  1. I agree, the word resolution does sound “do-or die”! My goals look similar to your list. Meal planning seems to be one of my biggest obstacles on a weekly basis. Sigh. Hoping that I am able to figure that out in 2013.
